FAQ
What does a day look like in the Board & Train program?
The daily routine can vary depending on the weather and the time of year, but generally, we follow this schedule:
● 7:30 AM – We start the day with a 15-20 minute walk to Astoria Park, where the dogs
socialize and train in different environments.
● 9:00 AM – We return home, and breakfast is served. After the meal, they rest in their
crates until 11:00 AM, when they go out for a quick potty break.
● 12:00 - 1:00 PM – A 1-hour walk, followed by another 1-hour rest period.
● 3:00 PM – Individual training sessions, focused on the specific needs of each dog.
● 6:00 PM – Dinner.
● 7:00 PM – Last potty break of the day.
● 8:00 PM – Bedtime.
Can I visit my dog during the program?
For the first 14 days, dogs stay with us without any visits to ensure a smooth adjustment and focus on training. After this period, we schedule a session for you to visit your dog. The next opportunity will be on the day of delivery, where we will have another session to ensure a smooth transition of the training back into your home routine.
What tools do you use for training?
The tools vary depending on each dog's profile and needs. Our primary tool is the Slip Lead, and we also use the E-Collar for support with off-leash training, always in a fair and responsible manner.
I’m afraid my dog will forget me during the program. What should I do?
Don’t worry, your dog will not forget you! I am confident your dog will return with new skills and more balance, strengthening your bond.
How will I know if my dog is really learning and will obey me when we get home?
Throughout the program, you’ll receive daily updates with videos showing your dog's progress. Additionally, all training is documented in exclusive videos with your dog, so you can review them and practice whenever needed. Most importantly, we will have in-person sessions throughout the program to teach you how to guide and lead your dog properly, ensuring the training continues at home.
What is the main difference between Board & Train and an individual session?
● In Board & Train, I work intensively with your dog over a period of several weeks, creating a solid foundation of behavior.
● In an individual session, I teach you how to work directly with your dog, guiding you through the learning process.
Both are effective, and the best choice depends on your goals and your dog's needs.
What is your training method?
My training method is based on Balanced Training, which combines positive reinforcement with fair and respectful corrections, always prioritizing the dog's well-being and clear communication.
Every dog is unique, and this approach allows me to tailor the training to the specific needs of each dog and family. We use rewards to reinforce desired behaviors and appropriate tools to correct unwanted behaviors—always with patience, consistency, and respect.
The goal is to build a balanced and trusting relationship, helping the dog become more obedient and live harmoniously within the family environment.
